The June 2018 issue of Journal AWWA includes “Water and Electric AMI Differences: What Water Utility Leaders Need to Know,” an article written by EMA CEO and President Terry Brueck with co-authors and EMA associates Claude Williams, Jon Varner, and Ed Tirakian. The article is partially based on research EMA is performing as part of a Water Research Foundation (WRF) project on AMI meter data analytics. The article discusses the parallels and differences between advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) as used by electric utilities and by water utilities and explores how AMI can provide water utilities with benefits beyond simply reading meters.
