On behalf of the AMWA Security Committee, on June 5 EMA consultants presented the webinar, Cybersecurity Assessments for Water Utility CEOs. EMA President and CEO Terry Brueck led the discussion of techniques for conducting cybersecurity assessments, with Directors Jeff Coulson and Bob Reilly assisting with the Q&A session.
This webinar is intended to help utilities prepare for the cybersecurity requirements of America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 (AWIA PL #115-270) enacted into law last October. Large water utilities (serving more than 100,000 pop.) are required to conduct Risk and Resiliency Assessments and submit their certifications to EPA by March 31, 2020.
